Precision Drill Practices from 30 July to 3 August
Hi everyone,
it's almost another week before the Big Day - the SCGS National Day Celebrations. Although the girls have trained very hard over the weeks, I think their relentless pursuit of excellence will carry them over to greater heights to want to give their very best come the 8th of August.
As such, the Unit has decided to conduct the following extra practices as scheduled below:
Monday, 30 July 3 to 6 pm
Tuesday, 31 July 2.30 to 5.30 pm
Wednesday, 1 August 2.30 to 6 pm
Thursday, 2 August 2.30 to 6 pm
Friday, 3 August Normal NCC Day
I understand the implications of such a taxing schedule, but I hope parents will understand and support their daughters in this annual celebration of nationalism and unity. If some mitigating circumstances do not allow cadets to be available for some days, we will understand the situation with a verbal explanation to the Officers and myself.
Let us support this concerted effort with as much great understanding for the cadets and their combined efforts to make this a grand celebration for the Unit and the School.
Thanking you once again for your undying support and encouragement.
Regards,
The Commanding Officer

PART A AFFIRMATION CEREMONY ON FRIDAY, 30 MARCH 2007
The Affirmation Ceremony aims to officially welcome Part A cadets as new members of the NCC, as well as to honour the achievements and valuable contributions of senior cadets from Part D. The ceremony is traditionally held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium to create pomp and grandeur so as to show the NCC’s appreciation for parents’ support of their children in NCC activities.
This year however, the ceremony is decentralised at every school due to budget constraints and rationalization of major NCC activities.
The theme of this year’s ceremony will highlight Leadership in the NCC.
a. Leadership journey of the Cadet – development of Part A cadets to become leaders within their units, as Senior Specialists and Cadet Lieutenants, through the various training activities and opportunities in NCC.
And
b. Character development as foundation – instilling the NCC Core Values through participation in various activities such as Camp FEAST and Community Involvement Programmes.
It is hoped that our Part A cadets will be excited by the many opportunities for their leadership development in the NCC, develop an awareness of the structure, organization and history of the NCC as well as a sense of belonging to the corps, and be inspired by their seniors to become outstanding cadets themselves.
